New interpretations of participatory works in very different contexts which are added to last year’s.

Dessiner une ligne orange

2011, 14 mn

Production communauté de communes du pays mélusin

Two men, living in an unknown country, are talking. One has lost his cell phone. The other guides him to the stone door. The enigmatic daily round of the inhabitants in this film organizes a visual circulation which gives life to the images. A truck transports images: those of a set which captures and imitates a reality. And an orange truck drives through the landscape to draw a line. CA

Mémoire #2

2012, 6 mn

Production Abdellah Karroum (L’appartement 22)

The video shows about thirty kids in a playground holding mirrors. I asked them to arrange themselves in the yard moving their hands in all directions with slow movements, and from time to time aiming the reflection of the light towards the camera. In the final edit, I slowed down the video as much as possible to the limit between photograph and video. The reflection of the light on the camera gives glimpses of blank zones appearing and disappearing. This video was made during my work with pupils at the “Moulay Rachid” primary school at Al Hoceima in Morocco. I myself attended this school in the 1980s, and that’s where I learnt to read and write. 104 – 3 + 23

2010, 6 mn

production Le Centquatre

In an underground carpark, children are playing a kind of hide-and-seek with the camera. But a disquieting and electric atmosphere is released from these fleeting presences who you would think were the survivors of the last atomic explosion in a video game. AH
