Parade Slow Motion, 2019, 22 min 24
Production Fondation Facim
This film was made based on the 10 Parades shot in Albertville as part of the project “C’est mon patrimoine/This is my Heritage”, in July 2018. Echoing the history of the 1992 Olympic ceremonies in Albertville, the Parades offer a counterpoint to speed. A static shot, the image of a strange parade that never ends. The procession sometimes heads in one direction, sometimes in the other. Children are wearing masks and have various tools for helping them to slow down their movements, such as: stilts, summer skis, referring more to popular village festivals than to sporting events. Figures, 2018, 10 min 55
Production : Shonen
Based on the theme of migrations—in the broad sense, meaning displacement—“Figures” is a duet involving an artist, Anna Tomaszewski, and a choreographer, Eric Minh Cuong Castaing. This project saw the light of day during the two artists’ residency as part of the Création en cours/Creation in Progress programme, where, over a period of several months, they developed research workshops with children, which eventually resulted in a film project. The project took form around the meeting of two artists exploring similar issues in their respective disciplines—mimicry, reality, fiction… A.T. & E.M.C.C.
